LGBTQIA2S+ Affirming Practice

Our Expertise

We recognize the wide spectrum of sexual and gender identities, expressions, and developmental experiences, and validate those lived experiences that have yet to be named or identified.  We recognize the impact of transphobia, homophobia, and sexism on the lives of our clients and their families, and understand anti-femininity to be a root cause of gender and sexual violence.  As an organization, we believe in gender self-determination and are committed to queer, trans, and women’s liberation viewed through a framework of Gender Justice. We attempt to familiarize ourselves with the histories, politics, and subcultures found within the queer community. We understand the LGBTQIA2S+ communities to be intersectional with varying levels of access to power, privilege, safety, resources, and health outcomes.  We practice an Informed Consent model for gender affirming services, and we are trained and knowledgeable to work within the WPATH Standards of Care.
